Part 2 of the pilgrimage takes us to the magnificent Apu Ausangate. This majestic mountain is an ancient pilgrimage destination used by the Incas and pre-Incan civlizations dating back many thousands of years. We will hike for 6 days around Callangate Mountain, going over 5,000 meter (16,400 feet) passes, leaving offerings to the mountain spirits (apus) along the way. While the trail is considered to be of moderate difficulty, this is a serious undertaking and should not be underestimated. Please come prepared with waterproof shoes, warm clothes, rain jacket and an warrior mentality. Horses will be available to carry packs and for those who are overly fatigued and need rest. We will work with the medicines of Washuma and Coca daily to provide power and spiritual connection with the energetics of the mountains.
